Our Teaching Philosophy
We believe learning tango is like learning a new language.
First, you start playing with a few, easy sentences, those that help you get through a short holiday, maybe. Start having fun, making memories.
Then you have to properly study its grammar and vocabulary and try them in many different contexts in order to be able to communicate your very own thoughts, until you finally reach a level where you can play with words in an artistic and creative way.
With this approach in mind, we have structured our courses:
- the Beginners course will let you fall in love with Tango tasting its magic.
- the Improvers course will provide you with an opportunity to strengthen the basics and start feeling more confident when "speaking"
- the Tango Focus course will build your body language skills from zero to infinite in a continuous process of refinement, to allow you to express through your dance.
Moreover, everyone needs time to make their own mistakes and refine their skills. So, our lessons always come with a post-lesson practica.

This is an 8-week course for absolute beginners and the first lesson is free!
You can join anytime in the first four weeks, and you will be able to catch up any lesson you missed in a following course. No partner needed. How can I subscribe for the course? The Beginners course subscription is a specific option that gives you access to classes, practicas, and social dancing, to allow you to explore the magic world of tango! You can subscribe in advance or you can pay by card or cash directly at the end of the lesson. For information on costs and payment options, click here. |
You can join the Improvers course once you have completed the Beginners course.
This course is designed to help you increase your confidence in dancing, and connecting different movements in a smooth way. We recommend you do a minimum of 4 weeks before you explore the possibility of joining the Intermediate course. How can I subscribe for the course? This is an open level course. All we ask for is the will and interest to study tango from the detail of the movements to its dynamics.
You will be paired with someone who dances at a level similar to yours, or you can come as a fixed couple. How can I subscribe for the course? To attend this course you will become a CTA member. Membership costs £65/month and gives you access to all CTA activities (Monday, Thursday, and Saturday) as well as a 20% discount on our special events.
