Tango Workshop: "Ochos, medialunas, giros: Dissociation technique and its application to circular movements" Level: All levels What is this about? In this workshop we will work on the technique that allows each dancer to pivot, to change direction and to create circular dynamics within the couple. The workshop will include: - Warming up exercises to release unnecessary tension from the upper body and to reconnect to the floor; - Exercises to understand where the dissociation starts, how it involves various parts of the body, how to make your torsion light yet powerful and how to avoid hurting your back while doing it; - Solo and couple exercises to practice the pivoting technique for ochos forward and back ; - Exploration of the lead/follow dynamics while initiating various circular movements, such as half-turns (medialunas) and full turns (giros).
